Streaky foundation, muddy eyeshadow, breakouts along the jaw — nine times out of ten, the culprit isn’t the product. It’s the brush. Here is the eleven-minute weekly routine our studio swears by.
Wash with what you already own
A drop of gentle shampoo or brush soap in lukewarm water is enough. Swirl each brush, work the lather down toward the tip — never up into the ferrule — and rinse until the water runs clear.
Dry flat, reshape, wait
Lay brushes flat on a towel with bristles over the edge so air circulates. Reshape with your fingers, and never stand them upright while damp — water loosens the glue that holds the knot.
Spot-clean between washes
A spritz of quick-dry brush cleanser on tissue keeps eyeshadow brushes true to color all week. Foundation and concealer brushes still need the full weekly wash — no shortcuts there.
Clean tools blend faster, waste less product and keep sensitive skin calm. Put on a short playlist, wash on Sundays, and your Monday face will thank you.
